Food is the source of our life, we are what we eat. In SONOMONO we strive for creating 100% natural products with excellent nutritional properties to support your quality life.

We are not alone in this cause. Some Japanese farmers have cultivated chemical-free vegetables long before organic food became mainstream. Ancient people learnt by experience that vegetables and fermented food were the keys to health and longevity.

Japanese food is a health treasure. We want to build a bridge between Japanese products with high added value and people all over the world.

In the Japanese countryside, there are many products and foods produced in a natural and sustainable way that will disappear if we do not find new markets for them. By adjusting those products to contemporary lifestyle and commercializing them, we aim to generate income for the countryside and revitalize its economy.

The deep blue sky, the green rice fields, the sound of cicadas in summer, the neighbors gathering just before sunset for talking and eating together. This is the countryside beauty we want to defend and preserve for our children!

We use just pure and natural ingredients in our products.
Japan has a rich heritage of agricultural, marine, and fermented food produced with natural ingredients. We think it is worthwhile to commercialize those products in its purest form without additives, conservatives, and GMOs.
2. We work for preserving the Japanese countryside lifestyle.
People are leaving the countryside because there is no market for their products. We want to support local producers by purchasing their products, raising awareness of their benefits to our customers, and promoting the beauty of the rural landscape.
3. Just the best products from Japan to the world.
Exceptional goods produced in harmony with nature by passionate people whit deep cultural roots in their community. This is the concept that SONOMONO aims to introduce to Japan and all over the world!

Supporting local producers

There is a producer-consumer gap hurting both sides. We select and purchase agricultural products, marine products, fermented food, and other goods from local producers, keep their properties unadulterated, and commercialize them through diverse sales channels to Japan and overseas.

Using the Internet and other media we endeavor to transmit the image of countryside life and its goodness to a wide audience. We expect this action will motivate people to visit rural Japan and enter in contact with its rich nature and traditions.

By linking local producers with new customers, we aspire to create an economic synergy that will revitalize the Japanese countryside and bring wellness to people in Japan and overseas.

The meaning of our logo

Our logo is composed of five elements that symbolize the Japanese countryside,
pointing at nature as the source of human wellness.

FIELD. Sustainable agriculture.
SEA. Marine products.
ROAD. The "S" shape symbolizes sonomono creating a connection between marine and agricultural products,
opening a path to the future.
MOUNTAINS & HOUSE. The countryside nature and people living in harmony.
SUN. Represents Japan and its millenary food culture.
The sunlight represents the Japanese tradition of using fermentation for producing healthy food.
